A resident recently had the unfortunate experience of having their unlocked car rifled through while parked in their driveway. Apparently the culprit was looking for items of value as the contents of the car was left on the floor.
Fairfax County Police acknowledge reports of similar incidents recently. They advise all residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and to keep the doors locked when not in use.

VDOT 2011/2012 SNOW PLAN
VDOT has recently presented their winter Snow Plan and announced it is testing a new Web Tracking Tool that shows the status of plowing in Northern Virginia neighborhoods. Of significance to Fairfax Station are two items in the Snow Plan:
Trucks will be pre-positioned in subdivisions whenever the forecast calls for two or more inches of snow. Each subdivision will have at least one dedicated truck, with the intent of assigning the same driver to that subdivision throughout the winter. In difficult subdivisions there will be more than one truck
Nearly 3,400 pieces of equipment (mostly contractor) are available for snow and ice removal in Northern Virginia this winter. Last winter Northern Virginia VDOT had 2,800 pieces of equipment available.

Attention NOVEC Utility Residents
The FSHOA Special Committee for Utilities recently attended a meeting with the representatives of the State Corporation Commission, Division of Energy Regulation, to discuss concerns related to electrical reliability in our community. As a result, the SCC sent representatives to meet with NOVEC, review their plan for improving the situation, and conducted a brief tour of our community. These letters represent the latest information concerning that plan. HOA letter to SCC and the SCC Response

My wife, two sons and I have lived in Fairfax Station for over ten years. We moved from Annandale and have lived in Fairfax County for over 25 years. When we moved to Virginia, one of the first neighborhoods we had a chance to visit was Fairfax Station. I told my wife then that one day we would live in Fairfax Station, and 11 years later that dream came true. We selected our current home for not only its ascetic beauty, but also for the people who lived in the neighborhood and its excellent school district. It was, and remains, one of the best decisions we ever made.
As a volunteer, I have been on the Fairfax Little League Board for over ten years. I started as a grounds crew director, and since then was elected president where I served two terms. I was also a member of the local Fairfax Boy Scout group for almost ten years. I was a Den Leader and ran the Race Car Derby event for many years. My combined service of over 20 years with these two groups has given me a unique insight on a myriad of issues. I believe the skills and knowledge that I possess from these positions will allow me to help Fairfax Station to remain the premier neighborhood we moved into over a decade ago.
I am committed to representing the interest of al homeowners, both new and old, equally. I think my experience as a sales manager and volunteer will not only allow me to continue with the accomplishments of my predecessors on the FSHOA, but also to work seamlessly with its current members. I more than appreciate that our neighborhood does not maintain its excellent reputation and stature without support from its residents. I promise to give the time needed to maintain that status.
Education: Baylor University (BA).
Volunteer Experience: Fairfax Little League (president and baseball manager); Boy Scouts of America (den/pack leader); Fairfax Police Youth League (head coach; PTA member
Professional: Sales Manager, EU Services, Rockville, MD (26 years)
