Neighbor Spotlight
On any given winter morning you can usually spot neighbor Kim Dalferes, wearing her bright red coat, walking her beloved black lab mix “Taz” down and along Robert Carter Road. Kim and her husband Greg, both project management and public policy consultants, have lived in Fairfax Station since 2001. Kim also serves on our community welcoming committee and is particularly involved in the spring home garden tour. But did you know that Kim is also an author? She recently published her first book
I Was In Love With A Short Man Once. Published by Friesen Press (
http://www.friesenpress.com/bookstore , search category “humor”),
I Was In Love With a Short Man Once is a story collection written from the perspective of a crazy, southern, Irish, gal. The book offers reflections on: growing up as a child of limited means in South Florida; managing a self-financed college education; balancing work as a federal official with the joys of single motherhood; and navigating the amusing challenges of being a second-time-around wife. Her book is also available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and as a Kindle download. The new author website,
www.kimdalferes.com launches February 1st; be the first to check it out!
Congratulations Kim!
